This farm was on rest inside the national preserve since 1985. Because it is under the purpose of preservation it has pure, natural water and soil. Yuan Farm is located on the east hill of Yangmingshan National Park, right next to Huangxitou Mountain, which has a strong and clean Clearwater Creek flowing down along the Shihpien Mountain. Inside this natural ecological area certified by Taiwan, the water and soil on this purifying land are pollution-free.
Water is all we need. It contains no colors or flavors, but it balances creatures’ health and energy flows. Pure fountains are not only the water resource for herbs, but also the most important element of Yuan’s soaps.
Each harvest is a gift from God. We wash the harvested herbs in the stream and each herb is washed with love.
Strong creek flows from upstream to downstream and this water provides the farm crops with great energy. The water temperature is consistently between 12-15℃ and the stream intertwines the entire farm’s plants to activate the plants’ vitality.
On the first day of business each year, we visit Yuan Farm instead of going to the office. Just like visiting an old friend, the herbs at Yuan Farm are refreshing enough to revitalize our bodies and minds. Our first day of work is to walk on the farm in Spring. Let this great herbal power fuel up our energy to start a new year.
Our seasonal meetings also take place on Yuan Farm. We help herbalists remove weeds, harvest crops and wash dirt away in Clearwater Creek.
In the afternoon we calm down our hot sweats, from the humidity and heat, and burnt necks with towels soaked in the cold stream water. What is life experience? I believe that we learn it from each practice and pass it on to the next generation.
